When I was growing up I never paid much attention to my skin. I didn’t have a skin care routine besides washing my face with a bar of soap in the shower. I used the gold bar of Dial deodorant soap on my face! As I got a little older I realized there are many products that can help with my dry skin. They make my skin feel softer, look brighter, and give the appearance of youth. I want to share with you 5 insanely good skin care products for mature skin that I have adopted into my beauty routine.

I have to say I never had pimples when I was a teenager. I wonder if it was due to that drying bar of Dial. I have since learned that the skin on your face is something you want to nurture. Your face is the first thing people notice about you. Now that I am in my fifties, I’m so glad that I started a skin care routine in my early twenties.

These are my personal favorite products:

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
I’ve been using this for at least 10 years. I’ve been through countless bottles. Just a few drops each night before bed. I wake up with my skin feeling moist and looking radiant. Supposedly, it’s also good for scars and stretch marks.

Trilogy is a New Zealand skin care company founded by two sisters who have sensitive skin. I first read about the company in an interview with New Zealand actress Antonia Prebble who has gorgeous skin and recommended the rosehip oil. I’ve also read that it is a favorite of Kate Middleton. Trilogy has many other beautiful products. If you’re interested, there is a Try Before You Buy sampler kit for only $5.00.

Borghese Gel Delicato Gentle Makeup Remover
I’ve been using this Italian makeup remover for more than 25 years. I use it mainly to take off eye makeup, but I also use it all over my face. It’s a very gentle, gel-like formula that doesn’t dry my skin.

Borghese Restorative Eye Sheet Masks
This is my new favorite product from the Italian company, Borghese Roma. Put these sheet masks under your eyes when you want to look and feel refreshed. They work wonders.

Borghese products can be pricey. However, once or twice a year they have a 40% off sale. That’s the time to strike.

French Girl Rose Lip Polish
I’m a lip biter. I don’t even realize I’m doing it. As a result I often have dry, chapped lips. This lip polish helps me get my lips back to a soft and supple appearance, and helps my lipstick go on smoother. It’s an organic, natural sugar scrub for the lips.

Timeless Squalane Pure
Squalane (not to be confused with squalene) has been used in skin care products for years. It is one of the key ingredients in Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer, which was a favorite of mine in my younger days. You can also use squalane straight up. I found this brand on Amazon at a reasonable price. It contains¬†100% pure olive-derived squalane. It feels weightless on the skin. I use it as an occasional alternative to my rosehip oil. You can also use it on your hands and other body parts as well.

Honorable Mention: Hair, Skin, and Nails Vitamin Supplement
I take this as my multi-vitamin supplement a few times a week. I don’t always remember to take vitamins. But when I take this Hair, Skin, and Nails formula regularly I see a noticeable difference in my eye lashes, fingernails, and facial skin. My eyelashes grow longer, my nails grow faster, and my skin looks smooth and bright.

I hope this list of 5 Insanely Good Skin Care Products for Mature Skin is helpful to you. I’m not sponsored by any of these brands. These are products I actually use regularly on my skin.

Let me know if you have any insanely good skin care to recommend. I love to learn from you too.
