Sometimes I need a change. I like to switch up my shampoo, my skincare, my gadgets, and my home decor from time to time. I would like to share with you five recent purchases that have improved my life.
Did you ever have something for so long that you no longer see it? Or have you ever used the same beauty products for so long that they no longer feel effective? This list contains inexpensive items I obtained fairly recently that have given me a fresh start.
Maybe you need to spruce up your surroundings too. I hope this list gives you some ideas to treat yourself, or that you can give as gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
I change up my shampoo and conditioner routine a few times a year. I especially like products that smell pretty. This shampoo and conditioner smell like a bouquet of creamy roses. They are designed to be gentle on color-treated hair which suits me. But there are different formulas in other beautiful scents if your hair has different needs.
In an effort to make my home — at least my bedroom — look like the set of the fabulous television show, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, I bought these pretty green curtains with a floral print. They are very Phryne Fisher. I have a robe that looks similar as well. They make me happy. These curtains also come in blue if you are so inclined.
This is such a simple yet useful device. I wish I had invented it. You can use it for a better grip on your phone. It helps make selfies easier. You can use it as a stand if you are watching something on your phone. You can wind your ear buds around it. It’s one of those items that are so practical, I can’t believe it took me this long to buy one.
Korean beauty facial sheet masks are all the rage, and for good reason. This is the third time I’ve re-upped my supply of these pampering masks. They leave my skin feeling cool and smooth. They come in many different formulas and scents. All of them have been wonderful, even the one called “snail.” Yes, really. In the evening if I am feeling a wee bit stressed, I pop on a face mask, put on some relaxing music and give myself 15 minutes. When I take the mask off, my face feels like baby skin.
My current living space does not have a tub large enough to take a bath in. I adore baths. As a compromise I have to make my showers as luxurious as possible. This Italian shower gel smells like sweet jasmine flowers and has a lather that is rich and creamy. It almost makes up for my inadequate bath situation.
I hope you find something on this list that tickles your fancy. We all need a change once in a while. Why not start with the inexpensive items on this list. If you only buy one thing, make it the sheet masks. They are lovely.
