My hair is so long right now. I haven’t had it cut since the end of January. At the start of the pandemic lockdown, I wasn’t ready for a cut. But then all of the salons in my area closed for a long time. They are open now in a limited capacity, but I’m still not comfortable going, even though my hair is half way down my back. I’ve been following video tutorials for easy buns to get my hair out of my way. They could easily be used as holiday hair styles, so I’m sharing them with you.
All you need is a ponytail holder and some hair pins or bobby pins.
The trick is that these women have already styled their hair before they start. They’ve blown it out, or curled it, or straightened it. This way it is smooth and shiny, and the front pieces already look pretty around their faces.
These styles can look casually glamorous or all-out glamorous depending on how messy or neat you want to make them. I like to keep them a bit messy. But then again, I’m not really good at making them neat. My hair styling skills are limited. But even I could follow these easy tutorial.
This first video shows three easy low buns options.
This next video shows an easy low side bun. I’ve been wearing this one a lot in my videos. I can’t really have super long hair getting in the way while I’m cooking and teaching recipes.
Do you have long hair? Have you been to a salon in the last few months? I color at home, and I’m comfortable cutting the pieces around my face, but I’m not willing to cut the back myself.
Let me know how you are coping with your hair during this pandemic. I’d love to know if you try any of these holiday hair styles. If you try them, please post a picture in the comments section, so I can see how lovely you look.
Happy holidays!
